Cory Morris

Cory Morris serves as an Assistant Athletic Trainer and Head Trainer for the Men’s Basketball Team at James Madison University, where he specializes in injury rehabilitation, movement restoration, and athlete return-to-play protocols.

Prior to his tenure at JMU, Cory was an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Longwood University (2013–2015). He earned his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Western Illinois University in 2010 and his Master of Interdisciplinary Studies in Sport Management from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2013. During his studies, Cory gained extensive hands-on experience as both a Student Athletic Trainer at Western Illinois and a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Stephen F. Austin.

Throughout his career, Cory has collaborated with elite professionals to rehabilitate high-level athletes and accelerate their recovery timelines. His expertise and precision were instrumental in Yohanny’s remarkable return from meniscus surgery—achieving full performance capacity in just 11 days. Cory’s deep understanding of biomechanics, recovery science, and individualized care makes him one of the most respected athletic trainers in the field, consistently guiding athletes back to peak condition stronger than before.
